A Letter from Gerard Duvelle (the Butler): Dear Sir, I am unaware of how you are able to enter and leave the house without my knowledge and that is certainly your own prerogative, as the house and land is yours. I will remain a loyal butler and maintain your abode while you are off on your adventures, wherever they might be. However, I would kindly request that you sign and seal the following documents as proof that you are alive and would ask that you give me some kind of proof that you are indeed alive. I have no doubt the voracity of the fantastic claims you make within your journal but doubt they would do much to uphold your claim on your house and land should any of your estranged family feel the need to push for their inheritance. Faithfully yours, Gerald Duvelle (also enclosed are several legal documents)
Since my last correspondence an officer of the law has searched the premises and has discovered the amazing artifacts in the closet. I fear rumors are beginning to circulate and without the proper funding for some kind of guard the house could be at risk of burglary.
